One of my favorite things about college is football games.
At ECU everyone gets SUPER into them. Granted, most of the students here like
it for the tailgating and drinking. But for me, you really just can’t beat
standing in the stands of that huge stadium chanting cheers with your fellow
students and Pirates fans! But before you head out for a game, make sure you
have these necessities!
School Colors// Get decked out in your school colors! No better
way to show your school spirit by being decked out in purple and gold (in my
case). When it’s hot outside, I wear a t-shirt with jean shorts, but during the
colder months I either wear a sweater (most likely purple) with my yellow
scarf!
Koozie// Whether you’re drinking a water, soda or maybe you’re
even 21 and you can have something else you don’t want your hand to get cold!
Around ECU clubs and organizations are constantly handing out free koozies so
you won’t even have to buy one!
Water// At this time of year it’s extremely hot during both
tailgating and the game. You don’t want to be the person that passes out due to
heat! You probably won’t be able to take water in, but make sure you have some
extra cash to purchase a water bottle inside! You won’t regret it!
Your ticket/ID// At ECU we have special passes for games that
we can get. And I kid you not, my roommate and I almost walked out of our room
many times without checking for our ID’s and our game passes! Make sure you
double-check that you have them!
Comfy Shoes// Please don’t wear heels to a football game.
Please. You will seriously, seriously regret it about 30 minutes in. I have to
walk to the games so I always made sure I was wearing my comfiest tennis shoes
to ensure I wasn’t going to be crying on my way back to my dorm later! Plus
you’re going to be standing the whole time!
Also make sure your phone is charged up! You don’t want to
lose your friend or something and not have a way to call them! Also, if you’re
walking to and from the games (like I did) make sure you have someone to walk
with, especially at night games. Better safe than sorry! Have so much fun!
This is great! I'm going to my first Packers game this Sunday, so koozies are a must!

Boy am I missing tailgaiting this year... not really a thing in Australia!
ReplyDeleteThese are so great! Definitely needing koozie as an essential, I agree!

Tailgating is sadly not a big thing at my university! They sound like so much fun though. "Koozie" is such a cute name for bottle holders - I really never heard the term before today!

I loved tailgating in college.
ReplyDeleteMy colors were navy and orange and I loved getting the chance to wear my cowboy boots every game day.
You're totally making me nostalgic right now.

My college doesn't have football as one of our sports, but I really want to go to a Carolina Panthers game later this Fall if I can for the tailgating experience!
