How I Tame My Frizz

I can't be the only one that has to deal with an immense amount of frizzy hair, right? #curlyhairproblems I've tried many, many different treatments, shampoo and conditioners, leave in products, anything I could. But nothing worked as well as I wish it would for years. I've finally found a combination of products that work amazingly well. Although there's still a little bit of frizz, I can handle it!

Products I Use:

Recently I saw Pantene's Curl Perfection shampoo and conditioner at Target and I knew I had to try it out. And I'm so glad I did. Not only does it help with my frizz, it smells GREAT! It makes my hair feel so soft and smooth.

After I shampoo and condition with the products above, I let my hair dry just a little bit so it's not soaking wet, wrapped up in a towel. I put a quarter sized (I only use this much because I have insanely thick hair) dollop of this HASK Aragon Morocco Oil in my hand and run it through my hair until it is evenly distributed throughout my hair.

My Process:
After I do the HASK oil, I let my hair air dry, unless I'm going straight to bed. Each night before bed, I separate my hair into four braids and spray each one with a little bit of hair spray and just go right to bed! I wake up and I have nice, wavy hair, that becomes naturally smooth! All I have to do in the morning is take the braids out and run my fingers through my hair and I'm done!

It's super simple, and I only use a few products, plus dry shampoo on the second or third day without washing my hair! It works for me, and it also might work for you!

How do you tame your frizz?

  4. This is brilliant. I have the texture and thickness of my mom's Shirley Temple ringlets, but my hair is sometimes wavy at best, mostly straight, so it's a weird combo with PLENTY of frizz. An Argan oil conditioner is the next in my lineup to try so hopefully that helps. I notice my frizz is such a bigger problem when I blow dry my hair, rather than letting it air dry which to me is pretty strange.

    1. Seriously, the Aragn Oil will help you so much, especially with your straight hair! I have the EXACT same problem! My hair is always noticeably more frizzy when I blow dry my hair, which makes me avoid it!

  5. Oh frizz. Seriously, I hate it, but who doesn't? I don't trust anyone who says their hair doesn't frizz! I love using Aragan oil, it's the product that I feel helps the most!

  8. I can relate soooo much to this post. My hair has a mind of its own. Unfortunately my skin reacts badly to products with sulfate, so I have to stick to a pretty strict routine with shampoos, conditioners, etc.

    1. Hm! That's interesting! I have to be careful with products I use on my face, but I haven't really had any problems with hair products! I'm not sure if there's sulfate in the oil I mentioned, but if there isn't any in there, definitely give it a try!

  10. I've actually never heard or looked into these products! I do keratin (it helps a lot...pricey but so worth it... not sure if you've tried it bc you didn't mention the exact name!) But you might not want to lose the curls... my sister lost her curls after doing keratin. I have frizz, no curls! I also love the line by Jennifer Aniston Life Proof I think it's called... the no frizz is so good!

  13. Me and my hair definitely have a love hate relationship. Maintaining the frizz and keeping defined curls is always a struggle for me. I've been using R&B from Lush. It seems to help. I think I'll try that argan oil.

  17. A few things...1.) You are SO right, Pantene smells baller! 2.) When you put your hair into four braids to sleep, where do you put them to avoid awkward spacing when you wake up? I've been trying just one French braid in the back, but it doesn't leave me with as much wave as I'd like!

    1. Usually I just braid whatever I grab! I don't really have a specific way I do it! However, I don't mind when I have off spacing because it makes it look more natural! Sorry I don't have a better solution!

  18. I am so happy that my hair never gets frizzy but when it does get unruly I just use some leave in conditioner and that normally does the trick ♥

  20. I might need to try out that shampoo/conditioner for the humid summer months! I'm a huge fan of argan oil too- it's the best!

  21. I love argan oil products!! But I like to keep my hair in natural styles like braids, etc to protect it and to allow it to grow.

  22. I have quite the frizzy hair too so I'm definitely going to try out that argan oil to keep the frizz down a bit. I use Tresemme curl mousse after I shower it definitely helps keep some of the frizz down.
