Valentine's Day Date Ideas

Valentines day is coming up, and if you have a significant other, it's time to start thinking about dates and gifts! I have a few posts planned to help with those ideas!

Depending on how you want to spend your day, how much time you want to spend on the date, and obviously how expensive they are, I've broken the dates up into categories! Enjoy, and have fun!

Fancy// You and your significant other can get dressed up really nice, and have a nice dinner at a restaurant that you wouldn't normally go to. If it was Kayla and I, I would want to go to our closest big city, Charlotte. After dinner (and dessert!) I think it would be nice to walk around the city and see what the city has to offer! Who knows what you could find around town, a nice coffee shop, a cute little boutique, some more dessert...

Dinner and a Movie// If you want a less expensive date but you still want to go out, head out to a local restaurant, and go see a new movie! It's a perfect date! Simple, easy, and most movie theaters give a discount to college students! All you have to do is show your student I.D. Lots of good romantic movies come out around Valentines Day! One year Kayla and I went to see the Vow!

Stay-At-Home// If you're more like Kayla and I, you like to stay at home. For one, you save a lot of money, you also can wear what you want, do what you want, and girls, you don't even have to put make up on. Now, that's my kind of date! Curl up with Netflix, a nice homemade meal (and cupcakes) and just spend the evening together not having to worry about anything!

Skype// I know what it's like. Long distance sucks. Kayla and I had to share a number of holidays like this on Skype. I've heard of couples ordering the same take out, and Skype while eating! It's almost like being together! One of Kayla and I's favorite things to do when we were Skyping was to sync up a movie and watch it together. Tip: Turn the volume off of the Skype call and type your comments to each other in the chat portion of Skype! Sometimes the noise in the background can be too much and you can't hear!

Some other ideas:

  • Go to a park and have a picnic
  • Make your own fondue
  • Have a game night (board games, video games, etc)
  • Go to a thrift store
  • Go to the mall
  • Go see a play
  • Go to a museum
  • Visit a zoo
  • Be a tourist in your own city
  • S'mores and a bonfire
  • Restaurant hop (one course at each restaurant)
  • Spa night

What other dates are you thinking about for Valentine's Day?
